Progressive Editing indicates the frequency of working with me, not which editing level you receive. Choose from this line of services if you want regular, detailed feedback as you work on your project in chunks. Progressive Editing offers Coaching, Developmental Editing, Line Editing, and Copyediting levels.
Very high-level, generalized read of your current working draft to get a gut reaction and indications of what's working and what needs revision. Choose this if you are mid-draft and want to see if you are on the right track.
High-level, detailed review of all major manuscript elements to start the heavy revision and rewriting process. Choose this if you have a completed first draft of 50,000 words or more and know you need to strengthen your characters and your plot.
Editing at the sentence level dealing with artistic style in your writing. This can only be performed if your story is in its final form and you won't be making any more adjustments to plot, characters, and organization. Choose this if your story needs more personality or clarity.
Sentence-level editing for technical correctness in your writing. This is for completed stories where all developmental concerns have been addressed. Choose this to check for grammar, format, and continuity issues (or loose ends) before publishing or sending to beta readers.
In-person conversation with me to discuss current problems, new ideas, or questions on previous edits. Choose one of these options if you are in a bind and need feedback fast or want to have a more extensive discussion.
Quality control review when preparing to send off the final manuscript to remove any lingering spelling, punctuation, or formatting errors. Choose this before you submit your manuscript to beta readers, literary agents, contests, or publication (including and especially self-publishing).
